OrthoPro 09-18-2002, 11:01 AM The two best choices are the Edelbrock Carter AFB 750cfm electric choke or the one I am currently running which is the Edelbrock Q-jet 850 cfm (Mine is .060 over w/very long duration cam). Let me know if you have any further questions. Aaron Forbes ------------------ wdanielbern 09-18-2002, 07:28 PM i talked to a rep at jegs and they said 750/850 would be too large since a 2 barrel and 4 barrel stock 401 use the same cam BadBuick 09-18-2002, 09:50 PM Your engine requires about 650 cfm flow for a street engine turning about 5500 rpm. A 650 holley or carter will do the trick unless you want to use a quadrajet. I have found that they require a little more flow. If using a quadrajet, you may want to shoot for a 750. buick3001964 09-19-2002, 08:53 PM are you having problems with the Q jet your using? because of the small primapies of a Q jet with a little tuning the one ya have should be fine. is it on the correct intake or you using an adapter? ------------------ Sean Etson 64 special 300 pwr 12.72@105 64 skylark all original servivor 49 super modei 51 wdanielbern 09-20-2002, 05:07 PM well it is actually a 2 barrel but i have a 4 barrel manifold and a 2x4 manifold with 2 500 cfm's but i have two motors also so i was wanting to convert the 2 into a 4 and you guys have been so helpful i am good with motors but this nailhead seems to be different i was also wondering why do they call it a nailhead? malc 09-22-2002, 11:48 AM 'cos the valves are so small they look like nails!! wdanielbern 10-01-2002, 03:40 PM WELL THAT SUCKS A COOL NAME FOR A DOWNFALL REASON O WELL I STILL WOULD RATHER HAVE MY 401 WITH 60,000 MILES THAN ANYTHING ELSE ALSO THANKS I HAVE BEEN WONDERIING THAT |
