I'm ready to swap carbs. Picked up a swap meet 4bbl intake to go along with the Performer Carb (carb obtained from a buddy..payment for tuning his dual quad 351 Windsor) Now, I thought I had everything I needed to go ahead and ditch the 2bbl. New carb, new intake manifold, gaskets and a universal adaptor plate. WRONG!! The "universal" plate is the wrong pattern for the '56 4bbl manifold, it seems too large. Does anybody know off hand of an adaptor for this swap?? or of a carb that will bolt directly on to a factory 4bbl besides the WCFB? Also thoughts about linkage concerns? Thanks in advance

you could try offenhauser; they still do all sorts of funny old stuff and just might be your best bet - otherwise you could possibly get a local machine shop to make something for you in alloy plate for not too many bucks - best of luck
