I just purchased a 1968 Buick Wildcat, I followed all the directions for looking up the engine, but for some reason, I am not sure if the people possibly changed something or what. According to the numbers found on parts of the car I should be looking up product code JR. But the only JR has 2bbl, mine has a 4bbl. V-8 401 JT.

Does anyone have a suggestion to as what I might need to know, or any helpful information.

If your '68 has a nailhead, somebody changed something. I expect your car is a '63 and you should consult engine identification in the Buicks.net "shop". What you describe is correct as far as JT and JR is concerned.
