I have a 425 cu in. engine in a Century boat. I would like to change the ignition to electronic. I would like to change the distributor completely. Does anyone know if someone makes an electronic distributor for this engine? If so, then who. If I have to convert the regular distributor then I would like to replace the current one. Please comment on that operation also.

Century,
Malory was supposed to make some Unilite distributors for TA Performance in AZ. They may have them in stock by now. Mallory had custom made a handful of these before (I have one), but that is about the extent of the complete after-market electronic distributors available for the nailhead. There are also some suppliers that rebuild and convert stock nailhead distributors to use magnetic or Unilight pick-ups. Carmen Faso sells this type of rebuilt and converted nailhead distributor for around $250 - (716)693-4090. They will work well with a MSD or Hyfire type ignition module. I think Pertronix also makes a electronic conversion kit for the stock nailhead distributor, but I have heard mixed reviews on that system.
