A couple weeks ago I asked a question about
vacuum hoses but got no replies so will ask
again. Before I purchased this 56 Century someone had pulled all the vacuum hoses from
everything including the vacuum pump. Would
someone tell me how these hoses run and if
any of them go inside the car via firewall
etc..sure would appreciate it. Thanks Loren

I don't have any info on the '56 vacuum system, but in the '52 it goes from the intake manifold to the vacuum pump to the switch to the wiper motors.

Thanks Bob, I have the shop manual but
it doesn't really explain how the hoses run.
The vacuum pump is fine but what I really
need is for some very nice person who owns
a 1956 Buick to open the hood of his/her car
and write me a short memo on exactly how the
hoses run and where the "Y" fittings come into play. Why people would pull all the
hoses and then sell the car is beyond me.
Thanks again Bob, maybe there are some very
nice people out there. Loren

There was a 56 service bulletin issued for the windshield washer that shows the component and hose layout on a tabletop mockup. I can send that to you. It shows where the 3 connections from the dash valve go. The Y fittings are in there too.
