Can anyone recommend a good reference for taking out and rebuiling a '55 264 engine?

If you go to our affiliate stores at http://www.buicks.net/store/index.shtml , go down to Albis books and click, you will find they have a 1955 shop manual for sale right now. That would be the best reference you could buy.

I've got a reprint of the shop manual...I was looking for something a little more detailed though (better diagrams, descriptions etc.).

Johnnyknownothing, Hate that name but anyway
buy a 1955 "MOTORS" manual. That along with
your shop manual that you have will probably
give you all you need. The motors manual
gives pictures in a precise way so that you
shouldn't go wrong especially if you are doing the work yourself. Loren
