Just picked up a 70 LeSabre convertible, good runner needs restoration. What stumps me is this green light that stays on in the auto shift quadrant (to the left). It's kinda rectangular and the provious owner didn't know what it meant. Do you? Where's the fuses for the heater fans? It's a little cold and wet here in Venice in Dec.
Thanks,

Does it ever go out? it could be the warm up light letting you know you engine is cold. My 61 has it.

It's on when the car is off, and stays on when I drive it. I've never driven more than 10 minutes in it yet so don't know how hot it gets. The aftermarket temp guage is non-funct, as is the standard dash stuff.
Is the light in your 61 in the shift quadrant, you know PND21?
Appreciate any more thoughts on this. Maybe someone with a 70 tech manual.
Thanks,

I just ran it about 20 minutes each way to Home Depot and back and the light stays on. Also no turn signals, speedometer, brake lights, wow, have I got some debug here.
I see this layout of the green indicators inside the transmission quadrant on the speedometer face in the sales brochure for the 69s; your 70 is likely the same. The indicators are for the turn signal. You do have another green indicator on the other side of the speedometer, right?
Wonder what happened inside the dash? The speedometer is mechanically driven by a cable. Hope you can get it all working again.

Thanks Todd, that makes sense. I'll try to see why the turn sig is staying on, and also maybe strip out the cable or see if it's turning from the trans. Anybody know a source for our technical manuals? I'll try eBay.
Appreciate the help.

Classicbuicks.com has chassis service manuals...a little pricey but a good place to get one if you can't find one anywhere else.
