I dont know if you guys know this but if you have a GM car originally sold in Canada you can contact GM of Canada and get a report on your car that contains tons of info on your car. These reports are apparently 10-20 pages long depending on the options I have min ordered and it will be here in about 10 days. I will update you on the kinds of stuff in the report and let you know whats in there. If you want to contact them yourself check out the address and phone# below and talk to George Zappora. There is a charge for the info mine is $45 C plus applicable taxes. They have info dating back to the 40's!

Is there any way to get similar information for cars sold in the US? I am really curious of what the car I just purchased really started out as.

Thanks,

Dale

Not to my knowledge. But if I may make a suggestion you may be able to get "some" info by e-mailing the Buick division. I asked for info on 72 vin's and they actually instead of e-mailing me sent me a photocopy of a 72 vin decoding sheet in the mail all pretty in an 8 1/2x11 envelope. I was quite impressed! You may eve try a good ol'fashioned hard copy letter and mail it they might respond to that as well. Give it a try it cant hurt.
