Hi, I was wondering if anyone out there knows the answer. I'm trying to identify the engine color paint for a 1956 Buick Century 2 door hardtop. It appears turquoise to me, but I've been told it' an Apple Green. Does anyone know what it is? Do you know the paint code? Please help....Sasala

In the Chassis & Body Parts Book for '57 the group number / part number for a can (12 oz.)of engine enamel (blue) is: 8.800-*981889. The asterix is supposed to indicate a new part number for '57. I've got a '57 Roadmaster and the engine colour looks light green and not blue, as described in the book. I don't think it's been re-sprayed. I'd suggest '56 and '57 used the same colour.

I used a Ford Green colour (VHT Engine Enamel, SP-131) to touch up some parts, it's a fairly good match. I heard someone using a Ford colour before, I think it was on this site, maybe about 12 months ago.
