What ho

1973 Buick Electra 4 door.

My left front door is sagging at the pin. I found a pin with bushings at the car parts store 'general GM' part. The pin however looks like a mother to take out. Do I have to remove the door to get to the pin? (it seems that way as there is very little room in the door jamb.

And how does the pin get out, does one just take the hammer and apply blows to the pin end, or is there a special tool one should get?

Or does one best have the local friendly body shop take care of it?

Thx.

You need to remove the door. And with an Electra I would say, unless you are up to a bunch of work, have a shop do it. At least find out how much. If you want to tackle it yourself, post here and we will see what we can do for you.

Toot toot That was fast... het lijkt the Overtoom wel (stupid dutch commercial...)

That was the impression that I got researching the subject and finding this message

First, you need to buy/borrow a GM door spring compressor tool (approx. $13). Open the door and compress the door spring. Support the door and pry out the door hinge pin and bushing (I do this myself, although you can buy a door hinge pin popper tool for this job--$25). Insert the new bushing and pin. That's it. For further info, check the message site at the 3rd gen Camaro website (www.thirdgen.org). There's lot's of good info even though you've got a 2nd generation Camaro

I think I even saw your name there... ???

And I most certainly did hehe. on the autobodypro.com site :0)

Thx bud
