The left upper corner of my 56 trunk well
has a 8 inch hole right in the corner and
heavy rust around the body hold down bolt.
Can I use fiber glass to reconstruct this
area and will it be strong enough if I over
lap the body holddown bolt? I plan on covering the entire trunk with carpeting.

Not much of a reply, but I also am currently involved in a trunk resto on my '56 Special, does your car have long rubber strips running widthwise along the trunk floor? Have you been able to safely remove them?? Can you tell if they only serve to house the body mout or maybe the fuel tank straps??
