Im restoring a 64skylark and need some advice on treating the under side of the car, tire wells and frame for any future rust, and was wonderind what would be the best way to go about it.

There are lota of products on the market like, POR-15 Rass-o-nil, and the like that claim to work magic. I have heard great things about them. But being from sunny California I have no practical experiance with them. Hopfully someone else will pipe up.

I have used POR. You use a metal prep or rust neutralizer and then paint over the rust. It is supposed to increase the strength of the metal. I have a hard time not removing as much rust as I can, though they say you shouldn't. It is "tough" stuff. If you have to sand it, you know it. Under a wheel well if you drive it, your going to chip the paint and it will be able to rust if exposed to moisture.
