guys: i had to replace the old unpainted
water pump on my 71 gs 350 engine . what colour should the water pump be painted ?
what colour would the bell housing be painted?
what colour would the 350 at be painted?

The water pump should be Buick red like the rest of the engine. The bellhousing / tranny is natural aluminum. There are some great paints on the market that mimic the natural colors of various metals, one I used was called "Cast Blast" I've used both their aluminum and cast iron colors and its amazing how well they look like the natural colors of each metal. I think I found these at NAPA.
