Hi.

I'm a new old Buick owner. My '61 has a just a couple trouble spots I would like to fix and treat with touch up paint if possible. Otherwise it's in good original condition.

Right now I don't have the money to spring for a full paint job. Where can I find paint to match the original finish? I think my car color is called "Fawn."

The only other thing I need is an interior driver's door panel. Where would I find one at a reasonable cost? Unfortunately, I'm on a budget.

I'm a newbie to Buicks but my Dad collected old Fords so I understand the sickness.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Shawn

I can get a friend who works at a body shop to to spray the panels that need repair...

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Did you go throught the Buicks.net website database? There are a couple of good wrecker listed there. You might also place a wanted ad in the classifieds.

Finding an interior door panel to match you interior might be quite challenging. Try picking up a Hemmings Motor News and go to their website http://www.hmn.com and check the ads. You may get lucky.

Unfortunately there is no 1961 paint code on Buicks.net right now. I found original color charts with the paint codes for my '62 and my '69 on ebay. Search 1961 Buick and if you don't find one right away, you can save the search and ebay will automatically e-mail you when anything for a '61 comes up for auction.

Shawn,
I do not know what area you are in, but around here (Maryland) all of the better autobody supply stores have a scanner that they can run over the existing paint. They can then mix the correct color. I have had this done twice and the match was better than I would have ever expected.
Hope this helps,
