My 72 Electra has a "bubbly" type/surface rust on the hood. Only started last fall. Car was stored in barn. Anyone know what can be done, outside of repainting to stop/correct this? The paint on top of the front fenders are fine. Also, the trunk is starting to do this. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Nothing short of repainting. And if it is bubbling, look underneath, sounds like it's not surface rust.

It is very small "bumps" in the hood. I also noticed yesterday, that it is getting worse, since the car has been taken out of the barn. I may sell the car next spring, so I may repaint it or leave it for the next owner to repair. Thanks.
