I bought this car for $75.00 and supposedly a good engine for$100.00 The idea was to use this car to learn how to work on cars. I did not go over it throughly enough, because on the passenger side the sill between the doors has rotted through. I had hoped to restore this car to a drivable beater, but I am a bit conflicted now. Should I keep this car or cut my losses before I lose my shirt?

Also, the drums won't come off. I think the shoes are seized against them. My idea is to take the drums off and slap the tires back on so I can move the car into my garage. If there is a trick to this I would love to know it.

Thanks,
Jason

1982 you say? Well, let me tell you some other things to look for on this vehicle. The 1978-87 General Motors G body cars were notorious for having rust problems associated with the rear frame to the point where one or both frames would rot off. As for the doors you mentioned.......ditto. Also the headliners on these vehicles began to sag early. (If thats the case please don't try to use trim adhesive) Go to the junk yard and get one from "any" G body vehicle. As for the drums you may just have to use a hammer, a flathead screw driver, and some good old fashion elbow grease to get them off. Now you mentioned something about a good engine. What engine is it? More than likely a 3.8 buick six. Although My 79 and 80 Regal had 4.9 pontiac V8s in them. graemlins/banana.gif
