ok guys....this is supposed to be fun ok. I wanna have a contest to see how much car you got for how little ok. What I mean by this is as follows: How much didn't you have to pay for your car, and how good of shape was it in when you did initially get it. plus a little story as to how you got it ok. Remember..fun fun fun

Ok I'll start.....I was a sophomore In High School. My neighbor saw my 1971 buick Skylark hardtop coupe sitting in this old lady's garage with a for sale sign in the back window. So, I went over there cause right away he thought it was a chevelle...and to a sophomore, I was like..holy crap...Anyways, I ended getting this cortez gold 1971 Buick Skylark w/Super Sport Rally rims with a 350 2 barrel that carried just a tad over 60,000 miles on it for a mere $750 bucks. She had some rust(since i'm from North Dakota) and since she had kept sand bags in the trunk YEAR ROUND. anyways...she looks a heck of a lot better now then ever.

This posting will catch on. this will be fun guys.

Ok I like this. I was talking to a friend of a friend at Spring Carlisle 2002 and he was telling me about a 71 Buick Skylark Convertible he had. I told him I was looking for something to drive while I was working on my 71 Chevelle ragtop. So he said it's a driver for sure and he would sell it for $4000. I said well thats too much for me I am looking for something a little cheaper. So we continued on at Carlisle looking for parts and then ended up going back to my friends buddys space to bs a little and have a few beers. Well his friend had already had a few too many and we got to talking about the Buick again. He says to me that there is a Chevelle wagon at the show that he would trade for the Buick (This guy has a HUGE collection of Chevelles). So my buddy says ok lets go check out this wagon. We get there and find the guy wants $1700 for the wagon. I still don't want to pay that much but the guy selling it seems really motivated. He says I gotta sell this wagon today so I can bring up another car to sell tomorrow. I said well whats your rock bottom price? He then tells me all he needs for it is enough money to buy 2 GTO bumpers. I said ok lets go over to the guy selling the bumpers and I'll pay him and you give me the title to the wagon. So I paid the GTO guy and got the Chevelle wagon w/title then I drove it over to the Guy with the Buick and traded it to him for the Buick. All things said and done $900. You can see the Buick on the webpage listed in my sig. http://www.buicks.net/forum/smile.gif
