Hi guys just thought I would take the oportunity to be the first to post in this forum! :hurray:
Rather than a problem (as I normally have) here is a contribution:

My radiator was pretty much completly blocked and barely working and even in relativly mild 75degree outside temperatures with no thermostat at all and a 7 blade fan with the clutch welded tight I struggled to keep it cool.

I bought an Afco aluminium two core radiator from a local supplier (American made i believe) at a relatively good price (would be even less in USA ) It was almost direct fit into my 67 Riviera (man they have a wide radiator!) with only little and easy modification to the top support.

That was great but my welded up fan was just too powerful and probably dangerous. As soon as the thermostat opened the temp would drop instantly.

I got a pair of Turbo Subaru Legacy Fans from a junkyard for about $40 which also happen to be the same width as the radiator, wired them up to a simple relay and thermo fan switch (30amps is sufficient for these Japanese fans)

Runs great now, swear I got about 40hp from loosing that mechanical fan!

Anyway, thought I would share that..

Great idea! That's exactly the kind of information us Buick guys need until we can build one from scratch thru the aftermarket like the Chevy guys can.

Anybody can be a Chevy guy, but it takes knowledge, ingenuity and craftsmanship to be a Buick guy.
