Hi all,

New here. I have been bringing a 66 Jeep with an original 225 Dauntless V6 back to life after 25 years on blocks. It only has 32k original miles but it was sitting way too long (thankfully in a heated garage).
I had to do the heads due to an overheating (corrosion in timing cover at the water pump) problem. Its now tuned, fueled, oil changed and running great.

But call it paranoia - I pulled a rocker cover to see how much oil was making it to the top of the engine and it looks like hardly any oil circulates around up top. What should I expect to see?

I'm used to getting sprayed with oil if you remove the covers of a Chevy V8 so the light weeping of the 225 has me worried. The Jeep manual doesn't have too much to go on other than warning that if you put the rockers on the shaft incorrectly (I never removed them ) oil will flow down the valves and be burned in the cylinders. This almost says that very little oil circulates up there but again, what should I be seeing? Any assurance or red flags would be great.

Thanks
Tom
