Hi everyone, Newbie Dave here. I just picked up my new 1969 Skylark Convertible. The car has been sitting in a garage since 2005. The owner would start it up every month, and turn it around. Now she needs some TLC. I drove her home 27 miles and near the end of the trip, the oil light came on. I also noticed it started having a sticky lifter. The oil in it was 6 months old, so I already ran some Mystery Oil in it and put some in the gas tank. Drained the oil and added new oil & filter and more Mystery Oil. I would appreicate some suggestions on what I should do to her, before driving it more? My last 'toy' was a 1959 Chevy Pickup, but that's was 20 years ago.

Oh, and where is the best place to start getting parts for her? The fun is just beginning.
:shifter:

Thanks,
Dave...

For a car that has set up for long periods I would flush out the brake fluid and refill with new fluid also the eng. coolant should be flushed . change the Diff. ( Rearend gear ) fluid .
I would change oil and filter again . HTH

One of the best repairs I ever made was to replace my wiring harness. Electrical problems can be really annoying, and your 40-year old wiring is probably pretty decrepit. I have had good luck with M&H, http://www.wiringharness.com/ . Your car will be much more reliable.
