Hello, where can I find things about maintaince for a '37 Buick?

What for oil need this engine's, and the gearbox and axle? I looked for it on this forum, but I could't find it here.
What is the max speed I can drive with this Buick. Yesterday I buy the car and the last owner had a company who used this car for weddings and drive 45mph as the max.
I hope it is possible to drive faster, becaus I will use the car as a daily driver.:shifter:

I own a 1940 Super with the small (248 Cubic Inch) engine which I believe is the same as in your 1937 unless you have the Roadmaster. Owners manual calls for: engine oil, outside temperature not lower than +10 deg F., use 20-W. Below +10 deg F., 10-W. Transmission and rear axle, use SAE 90 EP lubricant or equal. I hope this helps.

Sorry, I forgot your speed question. Your 37 should cruise easily at 60 MPH assuming everything is in good condition. But allow plenty of stopping room until you get a feel for the brakes and steering. Older cars need more room to stop.

Thanks.

I've drive about 60Kms with my car. Now i'm working on the brakes and the steering. It gives a lot of fun to drive a pre war car. It was my first time.
But the tires are very bad, also the brakes and steering.
Yesterday, I change the oil and I bought Comma Classic mineral 20W50 oil.
Does't have these engine no oil filter?

Erwin.

If your engine has a filter it will be a separate cannister attached to the engine by two 1/4 inch tubes; one feeding into the top from the lower right front of the engine and the return from the bottom. It is a bypass filter, which means that only a part of the oil passes through at any time. As these filters were add-ons, you may not have one on your engine.

Now I have my car 6 weeks. I drive 1500 kilometers with the car with a lot of fun. I bought new tires and I repair the brakes.
It drives good.

Now I'm surching for a good company to order different parts for maintance and repair some mechanical things. As example the rear shock absorbers don't work and must be renewed or repaired.

Now the color. My car is red and painted 30 years ago.
I don't now of it is the original color, but I think it is.

I bought on Ebay a Mint paint chips card with eleven colors of 1937.
But there is no red on the colorcard. When I looked in the 1937 brochure, then we see the red color.
Can anyone teel me the name of this color?

Look up www.oldbuickparts.com (http://www.oldbuickparts.com) and www.bobsauatomobilia.com (http://www.bobsauatomobilia.com) They both carry parts for old Buicks and the first one has a shock rebuilding service. There are several other businesses here that rebuild shocks also. Of course these are all in the states. A lot of old English cars had lever type shocks. You may be able to find a rebuilding service in England or elsewhere in Europe and save a lot of shipping cost. I used the rebuilding service from old buick parts (the company name is 'Cars, Inc.')just a few months ago and am very happy with their service.
