what gauge would i use for patch panels on my 1964 lesabre 18 or 20. I had use a sheet metal gauge and and the rear sail panel was 18 should i go the same or something lighter so it can be easier to work with. one more question what type of sheet metal is used cold rolled or hot rolled steel. dont want to buy the wrong thing.

I've used both 18 and 20 gauge sheets with about the same results. The finish on cold rolled steel is so much better than hot rolled that, for me, hot rolled is out of the question.
