Just a few questions,
I have a 72 Buick GS 455 Convertible that the engine was modified before I got it. I don't know what all has been done other than it appears to have had a girdle added to the lower block, it is running solid lifters, roller rockers ect. Don't know much about the cam other than it's not stock. The ignition points needless to say have been converted to electronic mantaining the stock appearence. My question is this it is still running the stock resister wire running approx 9 volts at fast idle.
Also the wire that should supply 12 volts from the starter solinoid during cranking has been cut because the smaller starter doesn't have the (r) terminal. Is this normal or should it have been wired to run 12 volts all the time from the ignition switch?
Where could I find Buick ralley wheels 15x8 and what are the largest tires that will work on these rims? I've heard MT 30x12.5 ET radials or 275x60.
Thanks for any help,
Woody

Largest tires without a risk of rub on the front are 245R - 60 - 15. If everything is up to spec on the front you can get to 255- 50- 15.

If you install anyting bigger on the back you will not have a spare that fits the front.

My thought was the largest rear tire I could get in there for the drag strip only. Then I would put the stock wheels & tires on if I drive it home.
