Pretty sure I got the above as a Flint made 2 dr coupe Black and red with black trim and vinyl bucket seats.
What does this mean?

In 65 GS was a late year model option to a Skylark. So the sequence code is still skylark and it does not tell you if it is a GS option car. What is the build date code off the cowl tag?
ST65 = Style 1965 = 1965 model year
4 = Buick
44 = Skylark sport coupe
37 = 2 door
FB = Flint plant of assembly
131818 = Fisher body sequence number
TR 158 = Black interior with bucket seats
RA Paint = red body with a black painted top
1W = Tinted windshield
1O = Two tone paint
2X = St 300 auto trans
2G = Long auto console
2P = (Debate here) Either push button Am radio or its a conveniece group option
4F = Remote contolled outside driver's mirror
4S = tilt steering column ( Need you to verify a tilt is present for me)
5K = Door edge guards
5W = Deluxe seat belts with retractors

Thank you very much. It is not my car but I am going to be trying to sell it for a friend that has zero computer skills. I will go look at it tomorrow and take pictures. I will verify what I can.

There be a number /lettter sequence on the cowl tag. It will suggest whether it was made during the months that a GS option car was available during the 65 model year.

Is O2D the production date code?

All Gran Sports had the Convertible chassis as standard. An easy thing to check for.:D

I am reasonably certain that 2P is a push button AM radio. However, my car also has the 4S option code, but does not have the tilt column. Since I have the original dealer invoice, I am 99.876% certain that my car never had that option. Thus, 4S continues to be somewhat of a mystery. :confused: I would like to find out what it means as well.
In checking the pictures posted in Bigjohn's other thread, the tilt column looks to be present.
All the other codes match the info I have. :thumbsup:

This does not puzzle me that much. I know a lot of people swear that 4S is the tilt but most of the group 4 codes are devoted to exterior moldings. So I am supicious that it is something like a rocker panel molding.

Ah, you might very well be onto something there, as my car does have the rocker panel moldings. Or could it be wheel moldings, which I also have. Or possibly something simple like a hood ornament??:confused:

Definitely something that a lot of but not all cars from that time have. I think wheel well moldings are 4W.
