HEY YOU BUICK NUTS!!!
I HAVE 1950 SPECIAL IN PROGRESS I AM THE SECOND OWNER HOWEVER I THINK THE GUY THAT HADE IT BEFORE ME THOUGHT IT WAS A PICKUP OR SOMETHING HE WELDED A TOW BAR SETUP TO THE GRILL AND A HITCH TO THE REAR BUMPER. IT HAS SOME ROUGH SPOTS BUT IS COMPLETE WITH THE 248 AND 3SPD CHROME AND ALL.
HEAR IS WHAT IVE DOON SO FAR THE ENGINE WAS LOCKED TIGHT SO OUT IT CAME WITH THE TRANY (IN HOPES TO REBUILD)
FOUND OUT ITS EXPENSIVE AND HARD TO FIND PATS
I PUT A 1982 REGAL FRAME (EXTENDED) UNDER HER
HEAVY SPRINGS
12 BOLT POSI
IT NOW HAS A SBC 350 AND TURBO 350
AND WAS TOYING WITH THE IDEA OF A MID 90'S TBI ENGINE/TRANY
I HAVE NO INTENSION OF CHANGING THE OVERALL LOOK JUST THE RUNNING GEAR FOR HANDELING AND PERFORMANCE AND AVALABILITY:thumbsup:

AM I DISCRACING ALL THAT IS A 1950 BUICK? :shield:

WHERE IS A GOOD PLACE TO FIND WHEATHER STRIPPING AND WINDOW SEALS?

I WANT TO DO EVERYTHING MYSELF IF POSSIBLE

Depends I guess... I'm just getting started on re-building my 1950.

If you want an engine / draintrain that everyone else in the world has done, but you can find cheap parts and your HP per dollar is low, then yeah, it's a good move. To me....yawn.....but you'll probably be lapping my car when we're both done.

I'm either taking the str8 and doing a small turbo and stand alone EFI, or doing a 401 / 425 nailhead with stand-alone TBI. Granted, it's not the most cost-effective way to make the car go, but there's certainly not alot of either of these two combinations with stand-alone EFI out there.
