This my second post on this forum. I figured I should say hi. I'm new to this whole forum thing. I joined because I own a 64 LeSabre Sedan and an 85 Century. The Century was my dads old car and the LeSabre I picked up a year ago. The original plan was to drive the Century and fix up the LeSabre. Best laid plans. The Century's Iron Duke finaly gave up the ghost after 175,000+ miles. So now I'm driving the LeSabre. Which ,all in all, ain't so bad. The car was garage kept, and had 105,000 miles on it when I bought it. Don't get me wrong, it's not show room fresh, but it is rust free, and drives great. It's a sedan that was optioned pretty sparcely. Radio Delete, 2BBL300, and collum shift three speed. And the "tree" that controls the heat is broken, so I have to pop the hood to turn the heat on. I'm guessing that's gonna be a hard part to find. Anyway just wanted to say "Hi".:waving:

I have to open the hood on my 62 to turn on the heater fan so I bought a cable and found an old tool used for making the curl on the end so I hope to take care of that problem soon.

Yeah, thats pretty much what I have to do. I move the reahostat by hand. The lever under the dash that moves it is broken. The rest of the levers are fine. I can switch the defrost and rear vent diverter doors just fine. I haven't really tried to disassemble the dash to see if I could get the whole cable/lever assembly out. I'm comfortable diving into the greasy end of a car. When it comes to interiors, not so much.

I saw the lever assembly for a 62 listed on ebay so you might check for 61 Buick and see if there is one listed or the 62 might be the same.
