Hey folks, its about the time where i am going to be putting in Air Ride Shocks. welding in brackets and everything. anyone know of a good kind to use for this? specially for a buick as low as mine? if not im just going to pepboys and getting the pair that closes to the smallest size.

I can't give you any advise, but I am interested in air ride right now. It seems Firestone bags seem to be the best...

There seem to be three numbers min, max, and ride hieght. I take it ride hieght is the important one. Looking at them you can raise your "spring" beyond ride hieght with more air, simple, probably also giving a firmer ride. I would expect if you are building your mount, you would want a fairly standard travel air spring and build them to sit where you want it at the suggested ride hieght.

hotrodsanta,
thats how my set up is now as well. but my sidepipes are about an inch and a half from the ground. cut and heated springs only. it looks good, but just doesnt work out everywhere.

Same deal here. I have heated and smashed springs and the stance looks good, but the ride can be sketchy. Are any of y'all
running Jamco cut coils? If so what cut and how's it working out?
I want to go lower , but want it to drive right. Bags are probably the only way to go, maybe?

here is what i did.
goto any parts store or ebay.
get air ride shocks that close to the smallest side. the smallest is about 10 inches compacted. they are usually about $50 a pair.
and summit you can get a control kit for air ride shocks for about $100.
weld the brackets up (PAW parts shop).
with side pipes, youll be able to run flat. without you will come pretty close to the ground. it is a cheap and nice ride with air ride shocks. without the expensive prices of airbags. and you dont have to worry about bag blowout as much. but as i see, you dont run too low to the ground. i like to ride an inch from the blacktop.
