i have a 94 lesabre 3800 motor. it has a oil leak dime to nickel size when parked. went to auto zone to purchase a quart of that main sealing gasket sealing miracle lube. i told the guy at the counter about the leak and he said it might be the oil ring on top of motor where the distributor shaft would normally go. has anybody heard of this being the culprit of the problem. if so where would i find this o ring location, any help would be appreciated thanks.

He told you wrong , that o-ring is on the 2.8 and 3.1 V6 and goes to the oil pump drive shaft drive housing . The oil pump on the 3.8 is on the front of the crankshaft. The most common leak on the 3.8 is the oil drain plug seal ( seal can be bought separate )
next is the oil pan gasket ( this design has been changed 3 times or more ) If you replace your oil pan gasket use the latest design for your year model and DO NOT OVERTIGHEN the bolts . HTH good luck
