I just paid waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy to much money for a speedo cable for my 54 on ebay. But, I figured I needed it, concidering the odometer is the only way I can monitor fuel consumtion unless I want to pull the tank just to fix the :angry: fuel guage float. Not this year I don't. Just curious ...Was I bidding against one of you guys? I can't believe I dropped 80 bucks(plus shipping) on the thing, but that's what it took.

That does sound pricey. I don't know, but couldn't you have got some kind of generic one from a local parts outfit?

I f*#^%*ing hope not.:clonk: See, the thing is I can only work on my car when wheather permits. (It's garaged in a very tight and unheated spot). I have a laudrey list of stuff I need to get done as soon as I get a decent weekend and wanted to be sure I have the parts I'll need.Next thing I have planned is paying $5000 for a distributer cap just in case the sun ever comes out again.

I would drop a dime to Bob's or Buick world to see what they are getting for the part and then go from there. Use that as a price fixing point.


Of course there may be some other vendors out there.

perhaps other member can make some suggestions for parts.

I would ask here first.

I have a Buick Parts guide I bought for 25 buicks.

The best money I ever spent other than the service manual.

Long story, but bullet dodged! I wound up getting a Seedo Cable from Auto Zone for 12 bucks.

I have not been so lucky lately with dodgeing bullets... I just paid a sick price for a plain momentary button from my Caterpillar dealer, like a big hole in $200.00! I should have checked for a used component that would have had it in it. I wouldn't be surprised if I could have got it for 50 - 75 bucks.
