I have been testing a 1941 drivetrain on an open chassis getting it ready to install in my 1940 Super. My wife took a video of me driving it, and I put it on You Tube. Here is the link. It is not great, but I feel a sense of accomlishment. I am far from a real mechanic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ly6L_CxyfYY

Get rid of some of that grass and you will have more time to work on the Buick. Seriously that is a real milestone for your restoration project.

Anytime I feel like I'll never make any progress on my projects, I pull up that "youtube" just to listen to that STR8! FANTASTIC!

That is awesome! I can't wait to hammer mine up and down the road bare naked like that. I'll bet I can get it into the 15s without a body!

PS: What happened to your rear frame rails? Did you cut them off or is it a '39 chassis or something?

Which engine is that?

The frame was from a 1941 Special. The back of the frame had been cut off when I got it. I bought the frame because it had an engine which was not frozen like mine. After getting the drivetrain operational, as shown in the YouTube movie, I moved it over to my 1940 Buick Super. I used the 1940 manifolds and carrburetor. It is a 248 cu in engine. I will soon post another movie on YouTube, with me driving my Super. My next project is re-wiring it.
