Well, this may be better to post in idle chat or somewhere, but...

A few weeks ago we had a "shop party". I blew one of my speakers.:(

The thing I like most about my shop is Sundays, turnin' up the tunes and playing with something I want to play with.

No speakers no tunes, unhappy bob:(

A young fellow who helps me out gave me a set of speakers, pretty nice realistic boxs, but the speakers had been changed around. They had a lot of bass, but not much else.

BUT...

Last night I picked up a good set of "Linear Phase, studio monitor 8812's" 240w speakers. They sound great! Gives me a first class shop sound system again:)

I can hardly wait 'till Sunday!:bana:

Speakers generally "blow out" as a result of not enough power, and not too much.When a distorted signal dvelops a clipped waveform, it is extremely damaging to the speakers. Very rarely, with a clean supply of power on demand, speakers break-up.
