I am totally new to this...I just bought a 1953 Buick Eight Roadmaster...do the parts interchange...I am trying to find out any information about the car...I have numbers off of it, but cant seem to find a way to decode them. I bought this to do myself...so my husband is not being very much help! Any info would be appreciated!!! Thanks - Lisa

Lisa, I've found that keeping an e-bay address set to 53 buicks, parts that I can click over and review the available stuff whenever I have a moment. There are manuals available that are helpful but only if you intend to do the work yourself. What condition is your car in, and does it run?
Look at www.hemmings.com, it is a great magazine with tons of advertisers that are catagorized by auto type. You will want to keep them for future use. I have put new springs, new front end, brakes, shoes, wheel and master cyclinders and a new engine and tranny are being scheduled. Upholstery, convertible top and elbow grease are on their way. If these are things you want to know, just keep asking question. Best of luck.

Additionally, yes a lot of parts do interchange, but a lot don't. How's that for a definite answer. The body parts are tricky, therefore you should ask lots of questions before you buy. If you aren't moving from one series to another you'll be fine.

What kind of shape are the bumpers, upper grill bar (mustache) and headlight bezels (the chrome piece on the outside of the fender, around the headlights)
