1940 BUICK model 56s Sport Coupe Street Rod Project. This project was started several years ago and never completed. It’s been sitting in storage ever since. Several life changing events and the drag racing bug has pushed this once great project to the bottom of my list. My loss could be your gain!

Some highlights,

* Custom built, heavy-duty frame with .1/8” wall 2” x 4” rectangular tube construction.
* Frame is currently set up for Big Block Buick (455) and 700r4 overdrive trans. This could easily be changed to any engine of choice.
* 455 Buick Headers are custom modified/fabricated to fit chassis, along with custom Stainless Steel Exhaust. Tail pipes are not finished.
* Custom built front suspension with power rack and coil over shocks based on Mustang 2 geometry, all NEW.
* Nine inch Ford rear axle with all NEW internals, posi, etc. Rear suspension is an “unequal length 4 bar” setup with urethane bushings, and Koni coil over shocks.
* 4 wheel disc brakes, utilizing all GM components where possible for easy service. All 4 discs are GM 4 ¾” bolt pattern.
* All brake lines finished.
* New custom fabricated Stainless Steel Fuel Tank built and installed in frame, ready for internal fuel pump, (EFI), or std fuel pump.
* Body, doors and fenders were professionally chemically stripped. Rear fenders are welded to body. The body needs to have the floor finished, and body mounts build to attach to frame. Also left side has new rocker tack welded in place, and right side needs to be installed and completed. Hood and deck lid are not yet stripped but are in great condition. Front fenders are in primer. Doors are also in primer but need some work to be ready for paint.
* This project has many extra parts that go with. Items such as, Corvette C5 power remote mirrors and bullet driving lights, GM tilt steering column, Mini power brake booster, etc, etc.
* No wheels and tires are included with this project, except possibly a junk set for transportation purposes.

This would be a great project for someone to finish. Most of the difficult work is completed. Some fabrication, bodywork and finish work are needed to complete this unique looking Street Rod! I’ve included a few pictures of a beautifully completed ‘40 Buick 56s to show what it would look like when completed. This is a very appealing and greatly overlooked body style for a Street Rod!

I’m asking $6,000 for everything, but I’m willing to listen to OFFERS and partial trades.
